What's your opinions on Oracle buying Sun Microsystems?

Does this mean the end of our favourite Database, 'cos obviously it's competing with Oracle in the Enterprise fields as well as for small users like us.

Whats your views?

Oh I'm not worried about the site at all, we have a number of other options we could use in the event of MySQL being changed... I merely wondered what your opions were on the future of MySQL as a brand/product now that they've been bought by a daddy of DBMS's.

I think the fact that they have been bought by Oracle shows how concerned Oracle were about MySQL's place in the market .. as competition.
